All these handrails meet the following minimum and maxim standards.

3 1/2" maximum projection into stairway.

1 1/2" minimum hand/finger clearance adjusted as needed to meet local code/project requirements.

Top and bottom rail extensions available to meet local code/project requirements.

Excel Pre-Fab Stair systems Handrails and Railings are manufactured to withstand the following structural loads without exceeding the allowable design working stress of materials for handrails, railings, anchors, and connections.

Top Rail of Guardrail - capable of withstanding a concentrated load of 200 plf applied at any point and in any direction, a uniform load of 50 plf applied horizontally and concurrently with a uniform load of 100 plf applied vertically downward. Concentrated and uniform loads above need not be assumed to act concurrently. Design Load Requirements specified herein are in addition to applicable local building code requirements; the more stringent requirements shall govern.
